Often, I encounter people that have declared what they want in their lives, which is excellent. What I notice, however, is that they are usually so caught up in what they want, that they don’t take the time to consider why they want what they want. Getting connected to the why seems to me to be a very important piece of the puzzle that people are missing. Getting connected to the why calls forth fortitude during those moments where life seems to be pulling us in so many directions. It’s our way of staying on track.

Increase Your Abundance Frequency By Staying Inspired

Earlier today, I was compiling a list of 50 Simple Ways to Create Your Own Inspiration. I was researching by going through some books that I have, thinking of what personally inspires me, visiting some websites from my favorites list when something peculiar started to happen. I began to notice the energy shift within me. It felt like I was coming alive! I was becoming inspired!

WOW!

Isn’t that interesting, I thought. Just the mere act of thinking of things to do that would be inspirational, caused my entire body to shift and become inspired! And then when I when I thought of it even further, I was not just the thoughts of doing something that caused inspiration within me, it was when I shifted my thoughts one step beyond into being an inspiration for others. That very thought of inspiring others, created a shift such that I was able to experience being inspired myself.

Huh?!

How powerful is that?

I decided that I wanted to be inspired when I came across the thought, how can I be inspirational to others? – then I became inspired at an extraordinary level!

Once again, I return to the teaching I have been exposed to for so many years:
Determine what you want, and then go be that!!

Am I Giving A Pinch?

I recently met someone through Twitter and even though he barely knew me, he GAVE to me because he saw that we might have a synergy. He, without hesitation, gave inbound links to my blog. He didn’t know whether or not he would receive any back, and gave anyway.

Wow!

So I ask myself the question: Have I provided inbound links to everyone I know? Answer: No. This virtual stranger, now friend, didn’t even think twice before saying here Cathy, my gift to you! As I think about it, I notice that I have provided inbound links to some of my friends, but I have not considered giving to complete strangers before. Why not? What about ALL of my friends and acquaintances and not just some? I don’t know! I’m not sure! Todd Weiss brought value to me without knowing for certain whether I could or would bring value to him.

My lesson for today begs the question, “Am I giving?” Am I participating in the cycle of abundance by giving and receiving in as many opportunities as possible? Am I giving a pinch or is the giving oozing and overflowing out of who I am being? Am I waiting for the “right” moment to give? Am I making my giving conditional? Am I waiting to see what I get before I give fully? Am I giving and then thinking, that’s enough for you, and that’s enough for you, and that’s enough for you…?

My mind is being flooded with so many people in my life – time to get busy giving!

Are You Downsizing? Do You Feel Less Than Abundant?

Are you downsizing where you live? What you have? Your entire life?

I’ve noticed that it can be easy when downsizing, to get caught up in a spiral of thought that includes, what you’re “giving up,” what’s being “taken away” from you, and what you will be “missing” by scaling down your life. Although your life may be shifting in a way that no longer includes the same amount of things, activities, and perhaps people that it once had there is still a great opportunity to celebrate! There is something to be said for being in a state of gratitude and appreciation for everything that’s in your life at this moment. Yes, this very moment in time…right NOW. Take a look around. What can you see that you love? Really, stop what you’re doing right now and look around. Did you find it; something that you love? Great, what else? Look some more, what do you appreciate about your current set of circumstances? Dig deep if you must and find something, it’s there. Who have you connected with in the last 24 hours? People at work, someone on the telephone, receive a text message, an email?

Make a list of all this stuff and then take a moment to see how you feel. What are you feeling? Perhaps, energized?, light?, happy?, grateful?, joyful?

Experience what it feels like when you see how abundant your life is right now. Ahh…

So, if you’re downsizing, maybe you feel good about it, maybe you don’t, and you want more or you want to begin rebuilding, begin by being in complete gratitude for what you already have. Because as Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, “When I bought my farm, I did not know what a bargain I had in bluebirds, daffodils and thrushes; as little did I know what sublime mornings and sunsets I was buying.”

Ask youself, “What are my bluebirds?”

Avoid Overwhelm – Be Abundant With Your Time

Do you wake up during the middle of the night thinking about everything you have to do or what you what forgot to finish?

Do you feel anxious or fearful that you won’t get it all done?

Are you trying to finish it all before someone finds out that you haven’t handled something yet?

Do you have this sense of dread hanging over you because you are sure that there is something that you’ve forgotten to do?

Are you exhausted just thinking about everything that needs to get done, so you don’t do anything!

If any of these scenarios sounds like you, you are not alone. It’s common that I speak with people who are feeling overwhelmed. Their jobs are more demanding than ever, their families seems to be getting busier and busier by the day, and not to mention, their extended families are wondering why they haven’t called! Whew! I feel their overwhelm just listening to it them describe it. Fortunately, there is something that you can do to begin to turn this around.

The first and most important thing that I advise my clients is to refuel themselves. They cannot give unless they are fueled up themselves. Even if it seems like they can’t fit another thing in, especially if it’s not already on the To-Do list, do it. I urge them to carve out a space of time to spend with and for themselves; something that they love to do. Not only will they enjoy doing something that they love, they often re-emerge with boundless energy and can handle and tackle everything on their To-Do List.

So remember, if you want to be able to give your all, give to yourself!

The Source of Abundance

I just finished reading an article today on Integral Life, called Gratefulness and the Spirit of Thanksgiving. http://cli.gs/yps9D One passage in particular that struck me was:

Our gratitude is the immediate and effortless response to the radical abundance offered to us at every moment, an abundance that surrounds us even during our darkest times, whether we can see it or not. But not only do we express our gratefulness for abundance—as we offer our devout appreciation, we can also feel “great-fullness” as abundance. That is, in the act of offering gratitude we actually become the source of all abundance, feeling the infinite love pouring through our hearts like sweet syrup, an inexhaustible warmth that floods the galaxies swirling behind our eyelids.

When I read this, I thought….and as the source of abundance I can be responsible for abundance showing up not only in my daily life, but also in the world.

How cool is that?!?!

So when I’m having thoughts about money, or thinking about getting more of something, (like clients or enrollment in trainings) or any kind of “lacking” thoughts I will stop for a moment and do an inventory of my gratitude practices.

Make a list of places I have gone in the last seven days. Where was I? On the bus, at the airport, in a taxi, at the gas station, grocery store, hair salon, work, someone’s house, hotel, coffee shop, restaurant, fast food, park, soccer game, doctor, dentist, shopping, with my daughter, spouse, friend’s house. List everything.
Next make a list of everyone that I interacted with.
How many of those people did I express gratitude and appreciation?
Call or email everyone on the list that I missed.

If I am the source of abundance and I create abundance as I offer gratitude, I will offer gratitude and rest in abundance as a way of being. Starting today I commit to grounding and re-grounding when necessary in this practice of expressing gratitude and appreciation with everyone in my life – not just a select few. I will not hold on as if…. if I give gratitude and appreciation away I will not have any left over for the next person. I will give it away as if, the more I give the more that will be available to give!

I am the source of abundance!

Do Vision Boards Really Work?

I hear people talking about vision boards all the time, and I wonder, if they really work. During my research, I found a website http://bit.ly/9wgwaE that addresses that question. According to the article, a vision board serves the role of programming the information filtering system of the brain known as the reticular activating system (RAS). This helps us move closer to our goals because it programs the RAS to pay attention to certain things in the environment that are in frequency with our goal or vision.

So, off I go making my board. Important elements to consider while making the board, according to the article, are to keep it visual, mostly pictures. Two, each picture should produce an emotional response. It’s important that when you look at the board that it fuels your passion! Three, strategically place it where you will get maximum exposure to seeing it.

Create Affirmations That Work!

This video is the epitome of enthusiasm regarding affirmations! Jessica is making an emotional connection to what she is saying and she really BELIEVES her affirmations.

Commonly, we make affirmations because we want them to be true, but yet, at a subconscious level, we do not believe that they are true, nor will they have a chance of coming true. In those instances, our affirmations are actually, creating the opposite of what we want. In fact, those types of affirmations are strengthening what we DON’T want because that’s what we really believe.

One tip, I’ve found helpful when creating affirmations, is to make them true for you. For example, if what you want is to be finacially abundant, your subconscious needs to understand that it is supposed to be financially abundant NOW. You might have an affirmation like this: ”I am financially abundant.” If that does not feel true for you, you may want to modify it slightly, to: “I am allowing myself to be financially abundant.”

The key is to structure it in the present and to make it true for you. Once you have your affirmations, repeat them daily with enthusiasm, with an emotional connection, like the way Jessica does in this video!

Optimize Your Environment for Abundance and Prosperity

Your environment is a subtle but powerful influence on your ability to create abundance and prosperity in your life. If you set up an environment that is supportive, you increase the flow of energy and you increase your ability to succeed. If your environment is full of things that drain your energy, you will be adding obstacles along your path that don’t need to be there.

One important element is your PHYSICAL environment.

This includes you – your physical body. How is your health? Are you full of energy, or are you exhausted? What about the clothes you are wearing? Do they represent you in the best possible light? Are your clothes impeccable? Clean, ironed, proper fit?

Is your physical space conducive to productivity? Ideally, you want an environment that is: Pleasant to be in, clean, and clutter free.

Can you work comfortably in your work area without any impending hazards? Are you free from distractions and is your work space equipped with all of the technology you need to run your business? What about the temperature throughout the seasons?

Are you inspired in your area where you work? Look up from your desk and notice – what is the first thing you rest your eyes on? Is it aesthetically pleasing? Is it inspirational?

If you make phone calls for a living? Is your phone fully functioning? Is the voicemail set up?

If you use your car for a living, is it in good repair? Is it clean and clutter free?

If not, why not? Know that these can be subtle ways of bringing self-sabotageinto your life. Look around carefully at your physical enviornment and then make a list. Make a list of all the things you want to to repair, clean, de-clutter and add. They may include things like:

Set up my voicemail.
Go through the pile of papers in the corner of the desk.
Replace the light bulb above the desk and in the hall leading to my office.
Buy a cabinet for filing.
Label the file folders in my cabinet.
Replace the loose phone cord.
Organize (neat and straight) the wires hanging from the back of the computer.
Clean off the chairs so people can sit.
Remove the candy jar.
Go to the gym.
Get a check up.
Bring in a plant.
Toss or give away anything you don’t like or has no purpose.

Once you have your list, commit to a date to have each item completed. As you complete each item, you will create room for the energy of abundance and prosperity to come into your life!
